BOOKS

Adler, Hans-Günther. Theresienstadt 1941– 1945. Das Antlitz einer Zwangsgemeinschaft, Tübingen 1955. Print. [Sections translated by Ruth Gutmann. Available in English through Leo Baeck Institute (available online). Includes comments on Renee Gerringer being sent to her death along with other artists, says, through writing of Hana Grabová that The Fireflies was requested along with some of The Tales of Hoffman for the Red Cross visit in 1945. Grabová also talked about how privileged Vava Schönová was because of her relationship with Murmelstein. Adler was very critical of the celebrity status of many artists in the camp, feeling that they were deluded and short sighted, focusing only on themselves and the present.)
